I have noticed this on several occasions now.
Haven’t the Online media/Internet Services Companies in India heard the concept of un-subscription links, spamming and the efforts around the world to fight against it..
I just received an email from BharatMatrimony with the following Subject.
Murugavel Janakiraman[CEO of BharatMatrimony.com] just sent you a Matrimony Day e-card
The email had no link to Unsubscribe for future emails. To make things worse the email was a duplicate copy of another email with the same content that i received yesterday.

Browsing from an internet caffe now I was just checking out the other microblogging and other profiles in the internet by and the people I met in a Social Networking Site.
I am having to enter User name and Passwords for each site.
I think it’s a good idea that all these sites(social and pro networking and other services) accepted each others’ OpenID as Single Sign in…. for identites.
But it seems it will take time for this to be the usual Practice…

Have a Broadcast Information message at the top of the first visit of your registered user after any important revision.
Make sure to not display it in all pages. Have a System where you can log as to which User has already been notified about the issue.
Its preferable if the message snippet can be closed/hidden without disturbing any other part of the Page.
