Description

The FBMeme button easily allows your blog to be shared on Facebook. The button also provides a current count of how many times your story has been shared throughout facebook.

The Plugin is Inspired from the TweetMeme Plugin. It has also used the code that TweetMeme Plugin has.

Features

* Shows the current number of times your post has been shared on Facebook.
* Allows your User to Share a Post on Facebook easily.
* Easily installed.
* Allows you to specify when the button should go (e.g. top or bottom or both)

Installation

Follow the steps below to install the plugin.

1. Upload the fbmeme directory to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3. Go to Settings/fbmeme to configure the button

• If you have the CPanel Login Info, Goto The Cpanel The url will most probably be

• Find The Section to Create/Manage Database and Create a Database. if doesn’t already exist.
  Also create a User with a Password. Assign Privilages for the Database created to the new User.

  

• Download the latest version of Wordpress from http://wordpress.org/

  http://wordpress.org/latest.tar.gz

  

• Using any FTP Client Upload the Files to the desired location in the Server
  after extracting them into a local Directory.
  
• Create a new File named wp-config.php by cioppying the content from wp-config-sample.php
• Fill the Information for database
  > Server: localhost
  > Database Name:
  > User:
  > Password:

  

• In a Browser open the Page by typing in the Address Bar

  https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/

  It will return some code..

  

• Replace the similar entry in the wp-config.php file with the new ones.
  
• Upload the File to the same Directory in the Server.
• Now visit the Page by typing the location in the Address Bar of your Browser.
  For example http://exmple.com/blog/
• This will redirect you to a Page with the following url
  For example http://exmple.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php
• It will ask you for the name of your Blog and your email Address.
  enter them and submit the Form

  

  Don’t forget to select the Option to enable Search Engines to show
  your Blog in their Search Results

• It will give you the login detail for the Admin Account.
  Note them down.

  

• Now Login to the Admin Panel of the newly installed Blog.
• Go to Settings => General and make the desired changes.
• Goto Settings => permalinks and select the desired format for your urls.

  Generally the Date and postname or Month and Post Name options are Good enough.

• It will provide you a piece of Code and provide some Instructions to copy
  the Code into a file named .htaccess do that and upload the file to the
  same Location in the Server

  

You should be Good to go now. Make a Post.

If you have been following my activities on the Web, then probably you would have noticed that my Social media Activities mash got messed up.

Due to n numbers of Social Sites with one common feature of Updates some of them tend to be out of Context, unwarranted, or just plain weird at times. It may appear that I am spamming.

Let me assure you that I am no spammer. I only want to share interesting ideas that crops up in my mind and general Updates about me. That is what the whole Social media is all about.

I do understand that I should take measures to minimize the negative effects of it. Here is the situation and the measures I am taking to deal with it.

• Music I am listening to..
  I have corrected this…

  It will not appear in Facebook and Twitter anymore for every single Song being played in my System.
  But It will show up in the particular Music related Facebook Apps Page.
  It will also appear in last.fm(Thats the entry point for Music updates anyways), lifestream.fm summarizes the listening History so it is coll there.

  Currently it shows up in friendfeed.com but not sure if I should keep it. Perhaps I will disable this one.

• Emotions in Twitter..
  What should I do about it? Should I not post about How I am feeling? Something which is more personal in nature??
• Tiny updates on Twitter??
  I could probably avoid updates like “Off to XYZ”, But I do need the ones related to Important Events which I want to Promote and the ones where notifying may lead to a meeting with someone..
• Replies in Twitter to Facebook
  I have disabled this for now, all my Tweets will not be posted to Facebook
• Blog Posts:
  Blog Posts currently show up repeatedly with duplicate entries from different mediums/path, will do something for this.

There are perhaps more types of Posts which I could cut on. But Aren’t these Applications

Or should I just believe in myself, have faith and be myself without giving much care about what People could think and their reactions.

Its an Official Twitter Application for Facebook which does the job..

• Visit the Page http://apps.facebook.com/twitter/
• Add Application.
• Give all Permission it asks for. It may require the oAuth Permission through Twitter.
• Provide your Twitter username
• Make sure it has the Permission to Update Your Facebook Status

You can check whether Twitter has the permission to update your Facebook Status by following the instructions below.

After setting up Twitter, Visit the Page

You will see a button at Top Right Corner Labeled “Allow Twitter to Update Your Facebook Status” Preceded by a + Sign..

If you see this button, you should click on it.

In the resulting Page, Select your Profile from the Drop down Box, and click on the button labeled “Allow Status Updates”

FriendFeed which was recently acquired by Facebook can now be set in Facebook to update your Status. So if you have a FriendFeed Account and have it setup at Facebook, you would have probably received a Notification in Facebook saying your Friendfeed Application was not able to update your Status at Facebook with a link to enable Status Update.

Until now, FriendFeed was able to post a Story and not the Status.

This is done to enable you to update as a Facebook Page..

Most of these sites are following PUSH Strategy not PULL, The reason why Twitter won’t update its status from Facebook and Facebook won’t update taking your status from Twitter.

They all want you to use their Site as the entry point.

It was a Busy Day so the Updates comes rather late..

Almost 20 Hours late…

My Name appeared in The Telegraph, Kolkata Yesterday, 12th August Quoting my Fast and Furious Tweeter Updates about the Earth Quake that Kolkata saw (and I felt last the previous night) and the Huge Power of Social Media that the Whole World is witnessing for last few Years.. Abhishek Sir updated me in morning itself.. I haven’t even seen it yet…

My name used to feature during 1996-98 when I was doing my 11th and 12th and taking Coaching for Engineering Exams.
Back then there was a Supplement every Monday named Know How with a Section on Brainstorming with Mathematical Puzzles…

I was always Good in Maths and the Puzzles so It used to be fairly easy for me to Crack the Puzzles almost every Monday. Apparently, Brainstorming Team even used to write my name even if I didn;t answer for certain Mondays’ Paper..

For those who don’t want to hurt their friends’ feelings yet be able to hide those Friends’ Tweets…

Feature Prospects:

Can be useful when you don’t wan’t to hear from your Friends of type (Friends with whom you are flirting at the moment etc..) at Office Hours… Or if lets say you want to focus on Work for a couple of hours but can’t miss your Other Contacts’s (e.g, Business Contacts) Tweets…

It can be achieved very easily simply by having a field where you manage as to from which Friends/People whom you are following, you do not wish to to see the Updates.

This can be enabled and disabled at any time.

Wow This should be Cool..

Although I couldn’t use it yet, coz the Authorization didn’t work.

Delicious is my most used real Productivity Social Media Application..

Sharing the Same without EXtra efforts will be real Cool…

I guess It includes the Text Description I write and the Tags in the Twitter Update.
