Ideas – Firefox Download Progress Preview??

13 November 2007 1,098 views Comments Permanent Link

In my Firefox settings I keep the Download window from opening when a new download is queued. I prefer to have as little numbers of Tabs and/or windows opened at any time as possible (Multi Tasking).

But this has a side effect I can’t see the progress of the Downloads when I want to without opening the Download window by pressing the Keyboard shortcut Control + J (Which I am not as much used to) SO I need to either click on Tools -> Download or click on an icon which I have in my customized Toolbar.

And then I need to close it after seeing the Progress.

It would be a great idea to have a Mouse Rollover which quickly shows you a summary of the progress in ongoing downloads. It could be rollover on the icon in my customized toolbar or may be an even more innovative idea.

Can be easily implemented through GreaseMonkey I guess but I haven’t worked on it.

Lets see who jumps to implement this or similar/better feature for this Problem.

maybe I myself or maybe You
